At Easter you will need to be extra vigilant about leaving chocolate where dogs can find it: everyone knows that ingesting chocolate can have a toxic effect on your dog, sometimes fatal. However, your dog doesn’t have to miss out on all the Easter treats. Make these tasty lamb-based muffins to show your dog they are part of the family. These Easter muffins for dogs are delicious and extremely easy to make.
Easter Muffins for Dogs
Ingredients:
500g lamb mince
200g Whole-wheat self-raising flour
2 eggs, beaten
1 tbsp chopped mint (optional)
Method:
- Preheat oven to 180ΛC and grease a muffin tray.
- Use your hands to combine all the ingredients.
- Separate the mixture into 12 balls and place in the muffin tray (this recipe obviously makes 12 so make sure you have some doggy friends to share your muffins with).
- Bake for 30 minutes in the centre of the oven until cooked through.
- Make sure that the muffins have cooled completely before feeding them to your furry friends – greedy dogs may benefit from the muffin being broken into smaller pieces before feeding. They should keep for up to 5 days in the fridge.
*Always supervise your dog when feeding treats.
Enjoy your Easter celebrations and remember to store your chocolate eggs out of reach of greedy paws.
