Cooling Ice Treats

These cooling ice treats are the ideal snack for your dog on warm days. There are many ingredients that you could use, so get experimenting with your dog’s favourite foods. Check out my optional extras for added health benefits.

Banana, Raspberry and Yoghurt – Cooling Ice Treats

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 8 raspberries
  • 1 tbsp natural yoghurt

Method:

  1. Mash the banana and raspberries with a fork in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add the yoghurt and mix well.
  3. Spoon the mixture into silicone moulds and freeze.

Top tip: Add a sprinkle of cinnamon when stirring in the yoghurt.

Bananas are easy to mash up if you don’t have a blender

Choose a base (or two), some fruit and an optional extra. Just mash or blend together and pour into ice moulds.

  • Coconut Milk
  • Goats Milk
  • Kefir
  • Water
  • Coconut Oil (melted)

Fruit

  • Watermelon
  • Banana
  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries

  • Cucumber
Optional Extras
  • Ground Flaxseed
  • Chia Seeds
  • Chopped Mint
  • Chopped Parsley
  • Honey
  • Cinnamon

Never feed your dog:
  • Grapes
  • Raisins
  • Avocado
  • Walnuts
  • Coffee
  • Xylitol (artificial sweetener found in some foods)

Check out my other ways to keep dogs cool in summer to prevent your pup from getting heatstroke. These treats should be given to your dog before they shows signs of overheating so keep an eye out for your dog panting more than usual or drooling excessively. If your dog exhibits these symptoms, treatment for heatstroke should be administered.
