- 300g (3 cups) plain wholemeal flour
- ½ tsp ginger
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 50ml (¼ cup) vegetable oil
- 100ml (½ cup) black treacle/blackstrap molasses
- 100ml (½ cup) water
Method:
- Pre-heat your oven to 160˚C (325°F) and line a baking tray with grease-proof paper.
- Mix all the dry ingredients together.
- Stir all the wet ingredients together.
- Pour the liquid into the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly before leaving to sit for 15 minutes.
- Roll out to about 5mm (¼ inch) thick and cut into Christmas or doggy shapes. Christmas tree shapes can be bundled together (once cooled) and stood up to create a delicious gingerbread forest.
- Bake in the centre of the oven for 20 minutes.
*Top Tip: make sure the biscuits have cooled completely and are thoroughly dried out before storing.
As with all treats, these biscuits should be fed in moderation. To avoid overfeeding, you should factor calories from treats into your dog’s overall intake for the day.
