Let’s face it, we all need cheering up after the disaster that has been 2020, and there is no one more qualified for the job of ‘chief smile creator’ than your beloved dog. For many people, Halloween this year is going to be extremely different: kids can’t go trick or treating; Halloween parties have been cancelled and many communities have had to come up with creative ways to display their pumpkin carving skills. One way you, and the children, can have fun this Halloween season is by getting your dog involved. There are countless products on the market to ensure that your canine companion can be included in the celebrations on All Hallows’ Eve. Check out my favourite Halloween ideas for dogs below, including: costumes, accessories, recipes and themed treat boxes.

Halloween Costumes
Costumes XS-XL
These costumes are available in a range of sizes. Our favourite is the Pets At Home pumpkin which costs just £7.
This gorgeous pumpkin costume from Pets At Home costs only £7 and comes in small, medium or large. The velcro straps make it easy to put on and it can be adjusted to fit most dog breeds.
This Bat Dog costume is available on Amazon Prime for £9.99. Unfortunately it is only in a medium but this still fits dogs with a neck size of 28-40cm.
This zombie harness from etsy.com fits medium to large breeds and is £22.50. However, I’m sure you could make your own version with your regular dog harness and a zombie dog toy.
Scare off unwanted visitors with this great shark attack costume from Pets At Home £19. This is an online only purchase.
Simple yet effective, this Beanie Fur-Baby costume comes in a range of sizes to fit all dog breeds (£7.50-£12.99). This is a great costume for dogs who do not like dressing up. Got the materials at home? Make it yourself for less!
For dogs who don’t like clothing, this Halloween hat from Pets At Home is perfect, and at just £3, it’s worth trying it on your pooch. Available in XS/Small and Medium/Large.
Halloween Accessories for Your Dog
Although some dogs love dressing up and playing the fool, there are others who do not like the restrictions of wearing outfits. Here are some subtle, and not so subtle (but bloody hilarious) Halloween-themed accessories for dogs who don’t want to dress up.
XS-XL sizes available from £9.75-£13.75
Understated but very cool Halloween pet tag charms. Only £1.50 from etsy.com. With seven to choose from, these would make a great little gift for your bff.
An alternative collar accessory to the bowtie, these Halloween-themed collar attachments are pretty spooktacular for £4 each.
Just one of a range of hilarious badge bows from Frankys Bowtique. Available in three sizes at £8.99 with velcro to attach to your dog’s collar, or with a crochet neckband.
Another steal from Pets At Home. This little elasticated skull bow fits most dog collars and is only £4.

Halloween Treat Boxes
There are many companies offering treat box deliveries these days. They range in price and all contain something a little bit different. Pawdoras Box offer Halloween themed treat boxes via their Instagram page for only £14 – just DM them with your order. Each box includes: a Halloween bandana, toy and treats. Similarly, Edition Dog (my favourite doggy magazine) are selling a limited number of Halloween treat boxes this year. They cost a little more at £22.50 per box, but contain: a Danish Design ‘Bertie the Bat’ toy, Halloween Bowtie, and a mix of natural handmade biscuits and premium brand dog treats.
With so many Halloween ideas for dogs out there, there is something for everypawdy! Let your dog in on the fun this Halloween.
