Banana and Raspberry Dog Biscuits

Both bananas and raspberries have numerous health benefits for our dogs so these banana and raspberry dog biscuits provide a tasty, yet nutritious treat for your furry friend. Bananas are rich in fibre (which aids digestion), magnesium (which supports bone growth and helps the body with the absorption of essential vitamins, and potassium (which keeps the heart and kidneys healthy). Raspberries are also a good source of dietary fibre and contain anti-inflammatory compounds, thus supporting dogs with arthritis and other mobility issues. In addition, raspberries contain vitamin C (which is essential for bone growth, eye health, supporting the immune system and a healthy coat). The antioxidants in raspberries help protect the body against free radical damage, fighting against cancer and heart disease.

My dogs like these banana and raspberry dog biscuits broken into smaller bitesize chunks. There are lots of different sized/shaped dog-themed cookie cutters out there so choose one that is appropriate for your breed of dog.

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 40g (2/3 cup) raspberries
  • 1 egg
  • 100g (1/3 cup) peanut butter
  • 120g (1 cup) plain flour – I use plain wholemeal

Use a cookie cutter/mould that suits the size of your dog.

Top tip: You can swap the raspberries for chopped strawberries, or add a sprinkle of cinnamon to the mixture.
