Easy Bake Dog Treats – Cheap and Simple Recipes

Bananas for Dogs
Bananas are a wholesome source of nutrients

Making treats for your dog can be extremely satisfying. You can choose recipes containing particular ingredients to suit your dog’s needs – many ingredients used in my recipes have health benefits – and you can pick ingredients that your dog likes the taste of. When giving your dog homemade treats, you know exactly what you are putting into their body. Be sure to check the ingredients of each item, such as peanut butter and yoghurt, as you do not want to give your dog anything containing artificial sweeteners, particularly xylitol as this could make your dog severely ill. Avoid using foods containing added sugar or salt. If you are unsure, you can always send me an email (thedogblog20@gmail.com) and I will be happy to help you. Here are some easy bake and no-bake dog teat recipes that are favourites of mine and take minimal preparation.

No-Bake Dog Treats

Cooling Ice Treats

Easy Bake Dog Treats
Ice treats are a great way to keep your dog cool, but also an easy way to feed them nutritious food

No measuring required and a range flavour combinations to choose from. This is a great recipe for kids to get involved in making as there is no chopping or baking required. Choose ingredients suited to your dog’s needs: coconut oil for skin and coat; pumpkin to boost the immune system; kefir and yoghurt for good digestive health. You will need ice trays or silicone moulds to make these treats and some flat trays on which to transfer your creations to the freezer. Cooling Ice Treats: the-dog-blog.org

Peanut Butter and Coconut Melts

These treats can be set in the fridge and only contain 2 ingredients (with cinnamon as an optional extra). Peanut butter is a great source of protein but should be fed as an occasional treat as it has a high fat content. The coconut oil in these treats can benefit your dog in many ways: from helping with bad breath to supporting healthy bones and joint. Peanut Butter and Coconut Melts: the-dog-blog.org

Easy Bake Dog Treats

Sweet Potato Dog Chews

Easy Bake Dog Treats
A selection of doggy bakes

This is a great one-ingredient dog treat recipe to make if you are on a budget. There is no need to peel the potatoes; just slice them then you are ready to pop them in the oven. You can bake the sweet potatoes a little longer if your dog prefers crunchy treats. Sweet Potato Dog Chews: https://www.platingsandpairings.com/sweet-potato-dog-chews-7/

Beefy Bites

Similar to the sweet potato recipe; these treats are a simple chop and roast technique to create the tastiest easy bake dog treats ever! I have yet to find a dog who does not love them. If dried out thoroughly, they keep for months and are handy to pop in your pocket to take out on dog walks and for training sessions. Beefy Bites: the-dog-blog.org

Baked Bananas

Bananas are loaded with nutrients and can be fed to your dog either fresh or baked. This recipe for baked bananas is so simple and your dog will love the taste of them, especially if you add a spot of peanut butter, yoghurt or honey on top before serving. Recipe from: snootandtoesbeans.com

Fish Balls

Fire up your dog’s olfactory senses with these delicious smelling treats. When tidying out my kitchen cupboards, I often find a random tin of salmon or tuna at the back. Never knowing what to do with it, the tin is always placed back in the cupboard to be used in future (which never actually happens). This recipe has given that poor tin of fish a purpose and my dogs love the result of this super easy-bake dog treat recipe. Just add an egg and some flour and you will have created a healthy, nutritious treat your dog will go crazy for. Recipe taken from Lily’s Kitchen:
